Locations around L.A. where your favorite
movies and TV shows were shot - and how
to find them!

Hollywood on Location:
Where Your Favorite Movies
& TV shows Were Filmed

Where do they film "Dexter"?

Where was the Flynn's Arcade from "Tron & Tron Legacy"?

At what local school did they film "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"?

For "Inception", where did they film that memorable scene of a train hurtling down the middle of a busy city street

Where did they really film "The O.C."?

Where did the producers of "Primary Colors" and "Ruby" find a Civil War mansion in modern L.A.?

Did you know that the skyscraper taken over by terrorists in "Die Hard" is the same building which houses the law offices of O.J. Simpson's lawyer, Robert Shapiro?  Where is it?

Filming in Hollywood isn't limited to the inside of the movie studios. Much of what you see on the silver screen is shot outside, "on location" right on the streets of L.A., and the surrounding communities.

In fact, it's hard to turn around in this town around without bumping into a site where a well-known movie or TV series was shot. Producers use virtually all of Los Angeles and Orange County as one giant movie set.

Take a look at any major motion picture and you're likely to recognize the downtown L.A. skyline, the Sunset Strip, Hollywood Boulevard, Marina Del Rey, Malibu, or Rodeo Drive. But those well-known sights are only the beginning.

Here is a list of some of the many specific L.A. locations where famous movies were shot, complete with interactive online maps for your convenience:
