Seeing Stars: Where the Stars Dine..

8401 Santa
Monica Blvd.,
West Hollywood, CA. / (323) 654-3993
The
Zagat Survey once remarked that "breakfast at Hugo's is better
than breakfast at Tiffany's," and it seems that a number of Hollywood
stars agree.
Comic
Jerry Seinfeld
is a regular at Hugo's. Denzel Washington,
Keanu Reeves,
Julia Roberts,
Hayden Christensen,
Kim Basinger,
Jane Fonda,
Bette Midler,
media mogul Ted Turner,
guitarist Eric Clapton,
actress Winona Ryder
and glam-rocker David Bowie
have all been spotted dining at this modest westside restaurant.
"Dexter" star Michael C. Hall had lunch at Hugo's with comedienne Sarah Silverman on Labor Day of 2011.

It pays to get up
early if you want to go star-gazing at Hugo's.
Located along Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood (the cultural center
of gay life in L.A.), this casual, little place has become a major "power
breakfast" spot for those in the Biz.
The pumpkin pancakes
get particular raves from regulars like Lyle
Lovett, as does the "Papa" pasta.
According to columnist Melina Gerosa, a restaurant employee says that when
Lyle and Julia Roberts
were married, they used to come here regularly, bring along a candle for
the table, and constantly kiss throughout the meal.
Word has it that
a big gay crowd turns out on weekends, but that most of the celebs show
up on weekdays. Hugo's opens at 7:30 AM for what may be the best breakfast
in town (at reasonable prices) - Tuesday mornings are the best for star-gazing.
But the show biz crowd also shows up at lunch time for Hugo's pasta.
Prices are very reasonable.
Getting
there:
from Rodeo Drive, take Santa Monica Boulevard northeast (about two
miles) to King Road (four blocks past La Cienega). Hugo's will be on your
left (north) side.
